 Jorge Chavez International Airport LIM/SPIM
, Peru’s largest as well as main International and domestic airport. A public airport, Jorge Chavez International Airport  is number 9 on Latin America’s Busiest Airport list. No other airport in Peru comes close to size or scope of Jorge Chavez International Airport . Located in the city of Callao on the Pacific Ocean, the airport is a short 7 miles from the city center of Lima, Peru, the capital of Peru.

Jorge Chavez International Airport  With 1 runway, 15/33  at 11,506 feet, the airport is cable of handling the largest of the worlds airlines. 
Opened as Lima-Callo International Airport in 1960 the airport was renamed to Jorge Chavez International Airport in 1965, today the airport has become a major International player with 23 airlines offering flights to and from, North America, Caribbean, Central America, South America, Europe as well as Asia. The airport has also become the main gateway to connecting cities throughout Peru and is the main link to Machu Pichu  with connecting flights to Cusco’s Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport. Jorge Chavez International Airport  is a hub for TACA Peru as well as LAN Peru airlines.

Lima-Callo Peru Jorge Chavez International Airport Jorge Chavez International Airport, having completed a major renovation in 2005 has 1 modern main terminal with 2 stories spread over the large airport offering 28 gates with 19 jet bridges as well as numerous parking spots.   In 2007 a Ramada Costa Del Sol Hotel was added to the airport and Peru Plaza offers a shopping center for travelers with name brand stores as well as numerous restaurants, lounges, shops, duty free. Several banks as well as car rental and hotel information can be found in the terminal. A food court on the second floor will offer the traveler a wide choice of fast food restaurants as well as coffee shops.
